Kari Ewert-Krocker joined the Discovery community in the summer of 2010. She received her B.A. in English and Theater from Denison University, Granville, OH and was a 2010 graduate of the Montessori Institute of Atlanta. The training was the culmination of two years of work at Hershey Montessori School, Concord Twp., OH where she worked as an assistant, a substitute, and the coordinator of the Elementary Aftercare program, observing the full spectrum of Montessori Education–from birth to age 15. Born in Providence, RI and raised in Columbus, OH, Kari lives in Little Five Points with her husband, Nathaniel and their cat, Tank. She enjoys reading, writing, and sewing in her time out side of the community.
Kari says: I have become more and more appreciative of the powerful moments that happen in the life of the growing child. There is nothing more powerful than observing the moment when the child comes to understand an idea from their own experience with an object. I feel so lucky to work each day in world built around the children, where they discover the various aspects of life through hands-on interaction with the environment.
