Eli Pelizza is a Kentucky native. She attended the Kansas City Art Institute where she received her B.F.A. in Art. Her experiences working with children include being a nanny, a multidisciplinary art teacher, and as an Assistant Administrator for Studio 2000: Youth at Work in the Arts (a summer youth arts mentoring program). Professionally, she has worked as a freelance Textile Designer and Fabricator, Arts Administrator, and Arts Education Director.
In 2011, The Pelizza’s had a child (Ona), and Eli decided to stay home for several years. While at home, she used Montessori philosophy to guide Ona’s development. Her interest in this process changed the focus of her career as she considered getting back to work outside of the home. She took the Montessori Assistant training and began working as a substitute assistant with Discovery. Eli was later offered an opportunity to become a regular assistant in a Primary Community. She looks forward to assisting in the Elementary community this year since her future plans include becoming a certified AMI Elementary Guide.
